got my new pred in the mail yesterday and seeing how it rained just enoooough to not work but still play i have been doing so.first ran the pred just by itself in the 100 hp setting and found performance to be very similar(not quite as fast as juice) to a juice.i didnt notice the heat as being any worse than say the juice or va or what ever.well later on i stacked a quadzilla va into the mix with timing taken out .things got better egts actually went down about 100.well today i decided to run some timing on the va ,still to wet to plant, anyhow i first tried the va on the 75 hp setting with timing and eventually switched to the 140 side .well never being satisfied i backed down to 75 again ,pred still on 100 and added some propane.took off 4x4 1500rpm launch bamm 13.67 !****! gtech threw a crazy number out,so i turn around and try it again bamm 13.5 high.so now i am like holy sh.t .i gotta get a witness.so i go get a buddy and tell him to bring his gtech.i ran 6 quarters back to back to...ext...results ranged from 13.7 to a best of 13.37 at 108.9the other gtechread 13.4.anyhow still not satisfied i tried 140 va tranny limped at 14.4 and i forget the speed.this predator has just set my 7000 lb truck on freakin fire.the tracks are closed here due to rain hopefully one will open tomorrow for some time slips....jess

Using the web page with car math, it said for a 7000 lb truck to do a 14 second quarter mile you need 504.2 Hp. What does the G-Tech "estimate" your Hp at? Have you weighed your truck? I did at a truckstop and got 7280 with a full load of fuel and my 240 lbs. Certified CAT scale cost me $7.50, but I will have more faith in the G-Tech numbers knowing I am at least close on weight. Hey, whats the weight per gallon for diesel?

diesel = 6.8 lbs/gal

mine weighs right at 7000 pounds on the farms weigh scales didnt get precisebut i weigh 265 so we are close on weights .as far as power i was running the pred on 100 a va on 75 and propane on about 85.these are figyres when ran alone i am sure they give only have or less when stacked.the reral performance answer is in the pred it just needs to be looked into .there is more there than any one can imagine..jess

Now king, you are one crazy fella, you gots to much coin to play with the way it sounds to me. I am envious as hell!! I would hate to see the look on my face if i got beat by a dam truck with my T/A, but it sounds like you are well on your way to being able to do it. Hope you don't cook anything.

King D I pulled my buddy's camaro to the track tonight and ran a coulple passes. It is only an 1/8 mile but I finally got into the 8's. It is hard to change gears fast enough and I'm still not getting a good 60 foot time, 2.2 I think, what are you running for 60 foot times and 1/8? I ran 8.91 @ 79.

RWTD

If you took that 8.91 @ 79 and equated it into a 1/4 that would be 13.944 @ 101.12 . Of course that formula I used isn't accurate on a heavier, more wind resistant truck, plus factoring in rpm band, power, gearing, transmission, blah blah blah, but otherwise I'd have to say you did quite darn well if you ask me.

Every time that I have ran the quarter mile I have been farther from home and took of fairly easy then stepped on it. Tonight I was a little closer so I launched a little harder. My quarter times are 14.1 @ 100 against the engine governor from about 1200 ft on. I need to get a powerloader to get some more rpm's to get through the quarter. My 1/8 times at the 1/4 mile track were 9.4 and up.

CPMac632, here is the time slip from my last trip to the track. I was leaving the line with 5# of boost and in 4wd.

R/T .222
60' 1.929
330' 5.883
1/8 9.268
mph 73.26
1/4 14.683
mph 89.35

I surprised the heck out of the camero I was racing by beating him through the 1/8.

Those are pretty fast times. Especially the reaction!

I ran three times that night and of course I picked the best but that is about as fast as this 7400# truck is going to go.

Hey CPMac632, what are the details on your truck? Power mods, tire size, etc. Is it a 4x4? How are you launching? Is the speed limiter removed? Those are impressive times for the handshaker and I'm glad because some people don't think those times are possible with the 6speed.

GMC Truck I have ran those times with 1 Van Aaken box, and a K&N Filter only. I took the 285 tires off and ran the stock 245's. I was taking off easy and then stepping on it when I ran the 14.1 quarter times but I was closer to home at the 1/8 and was lauching at about 1500 in second and had just got into sixth before the traps. I was going to put my new all out competition clutch in today and I guess I should make it into the 12's hopefully with it but the company that made it forgot to balance it so I will have to wait until next week to prove it. To get to 100 in the quarter I had to unplug the speedo off of the transfer case, but I still govern the engine out before the traps so with larger tires or a powerloader I am expecting more MPH.

what trucks currently have speed limiters? My friends '02 dodge crused 115 easy after he hit his foot with a chainsaw and let me drive him down to town.
