Ok.. so I plugged in my VIN and it came back with a bunch of stuff... none of which had a TSB number associated with them.. and the explanations to the updates listed were not really anything big..
So my question is.. how do I know what my truck has or doesn't have.. and which updates are worthy of worrying about.. the site is rather confusing IMO... I mean... why doesn't it just say.. you truck does not have these new updates.. and list them...
Any help is appreciated.. Oh the build date on my truck is 05/02 I think.. I ASSume that's the date in the upper right hand corner of the VIN sticker on the door ??
Thanks...

I can't answer your question about the website as I'm not sure what it tells you myself. As for the build date, look on the frame under the drivers door. There is a big white sticker with the exact build date on it.
The only way to tell is to let a dealer plug in a Tech 2 and download to GM, it will then tell him or her what to install. I think you have to be a dealer to do this, if anybody knows different I would like to know.
Here's my version of how the GM Calibration site works from a previous post:

The GM Calibration site:
http://vci.ecomm.gm.com/vci/
This site lists ALL the AVAILABLE ECM/PCM software and updates for your vehicle, not the software that is installed. When new software is available, it will be added to the bottom of each section. The listing will not change after you have an update(s) performed - it will only change when new software is released.
The only way I know to check the INSTALLED SOFTWARE in your truck is to use a TECH2 to download the software versions from your vehicle and check it against the list. This is what the dealer has to do.
I printed out the page when my truck was en route from the factory and, and when I checked and saw that something was new on the list - I went to the dealer with my list of 'complaints' and had the new software installed (after reading positive posts on the new versions).
AFAIK, no one has found a website for the TCM programming - the GM site is ONLY for the ECM/PCM.

This is my version of how the 'goofy' GM Calibration site works, and borrowing a phrase from another forum member - I reserve the right to change my mind in the future.
