A few days ago, I had a couple of times that I experienced brief excessive smoke along with higher engine ticking. This occurred about 1/3 thru a tank of fuel. None of the times involved hills or hard acceleration. The last time it happened, there were 3 almost equally spaced incidents within maybe 15 sec. Then the engine didn't miss a beat for the next 250 miles of the trip. I'm on another tank of fuel now and so far no problems. The truck has about 2100 miles on it. Anyone have any thoughts?
