got my 02 duramax back yesterday. in for service for 17 days.engine was full of diesel leaking all over the underside of my truck.they serviced it and replaced injectors 5 and 7.washed the truck as soon as i got it back now the paint is coming off the frame rail and truck runs like crap go out on interstate and step down on the truck and it feels like it is missing and the turbo sounds completely different almost sounds like air whooshing and lots of black smoke.
any help would be greatly appreciated

If its making a lot of whooshing sounds and emitting a lot of black smoke, sounds like the dealer forgot to tighten the hoses coming off of the turbo or intercooler. This is probably the reason it's not running well...no boost! Take it back and demand to talk to the service manager. Sounds like sub-standard work.

Dealer can and should recoat the frame. I took mine back and they fixed it while I waited after it took them a week to replace 2 injectors. The mechanic even appoligized for not doing it the first time. Said he left it up to someone else and didn't go back to check thier work.

I just had the #4 injector replaced after it completely coated the underside of my truck with diesel. Does anyone know where to buy the undercoating for the frame, I have several bare spots I would like to cover before they get salted here in Chicago.

JERMCK,

See this topic discussing NOX RUST X-121B (http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=005300) for information on where to buy the frame wax coating. I also found this NOX RUST X-121B article (http://www.i-car.com/html_pages/about_icar/current_events_news/advantage/advantage_online_archives/2002/032502.html).
