View Full Version : 14.77 @ 89.44 in 4wd
Ran a 14.77 @ 89.44 in 4wd Juice on level 4. Ran across the scale, 6606 with me in it. A 200x corvette I ran against weighed 3278 and ran a 13.33. Now if I could only get the 2500 HD CC down that light.
that makes no since. i have a ext cab short bed and i weigh 6750 with me in it and i wiegh 200 pounds so that means 6550
how can a crew can wiegh less then me. (unless you weigh 56 pounds?)
I left the tail gate at home and dropped the heavy muffler, running str-8-piped now.
also,
I weigh 160
truck had 1/4 tank of fuel

Hey Tom, how much does that Adrian steel tool box
weigh? Add that and the contents to your truck
weight too.
<OFF TOPIC>
Looked at a NEW OFF THE HAULER 2003 white DMax/Alli
extended cab short bed 2500HD tonight. SWEET truck.
If it had the 6 speed manual in it my Dodge might
of been a goner! They still had to prep the truck,
it was full of parts like wheel centercaps, stuff in
plastic bags (floormats) etc so I couldn't drive it.
DUAL zone heat/AC, BOSE stereo, radio controls on
the steering wheel! Nice.

I think thats what I would expect. My 7300lb dually ran 15.3 @ 88.3mph--Juiced.
just running Juice, no propane or NOS
0.928 RT
2.015 60 ft
5.957 330 ft
8.717 ET @ 594 ft
9.329 1/8 ET
73.42 1/8 mph
12.261 1000' ET
82.56 1000' MPH
14.775 1/4 ET
89.44 1/4 MPH
What is the qickest Dmax with a box only, not on propane or NOS?

Michael Tomac, TMG, and Maverick-
What were your incremental times? 660 foot ET and 660 foot MPH? I've only run 1/8 mile, and want to compare numbers...
My truck will 60' at 1.98-1.99 in 4x4, launching at 10-12 PSI boost.

Oh yeah- my truck weighs 7020 with me in it, and a full tank of fuel. Subtract my 310 pound lard a**, and the truck by itself is 6710.
The best 1/8 mile pass I made was 9.56 @ 72.11 MPH. Density altitude was around 5,000 feet, which is poor air, even for a turbocharged vehicle.

1/8 MPH....63.84

2nd run with Juice box added on #4 setting. It was very sluggish between shifts but pulled very hard:

I picked up 2 seconds and 10 MPH. WOW!!!!!
I'd like to run it again soon. The Allison seems to shift alot better now than when I first put it on for this run. I know it would be alittle faster. Maybe I'll try in 4wd this time.
If the Alaska guys want to set a day, we all can go. Let me know.

It's hard to cut a good light with the 33" diameter tires, especially when you haven't raced for almost two years... The best I cut was a .675 (last run), worst was a .975 (first run). I ended up "leaving" as the second light was just going full bright, and that resulted in the .675. For comparison sake, I'd release the transbrake in my S-10 as the third light was going full bright, and that'd usually result in a .525-.540 light.
Big difference racing this truck compared to my racer, which was easy to cut .50-.540 lights, and 1.37 60' times...
Does anyone make a transbrake for the Allison?? ;)

SoMnDMAX,
Transbrake.....Sure!
Already included from the factory!
Place trans in -N-
Push both feet to floor (one on gas pedal, other as a brace on the floor)
Hold your breath!
Pull into -D- at last yellow!
Hold on tight!
P.S. You'll need the "deep pan" to catch all the pieces that drop into it!!!
Some nice times guys!
Lawnboy ,
OH YA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now your talking !!!!!!!!!!! LMFAO :D :D :D

I am going to give you a tip on foot braking at the dragstrip that has worked for me since the 60's. Get a countdown on the lights in your head, you must get a rythem for this to work, it takes total concentration. First light comes on is 1, second light comes on is 2, the next thing is to say GO! and if your mind is in time you will cut a good light. This is based on a 3 light tree, in the old days we had a 5 light tree and it took more concentration to get your rythem down.
Hope this helps some of you drag racers out there!
I forgot, get your rpms where you want them before you launch.
I was ridin' with Peanut when he pulled something like a .545 RT. I think we both though he jumped the light. You sure can't wait for green and expect a good RT.

Lawn Boy- you're nuts!!! ;) :D Wonder if it'd work.... I think we'd need more than the deep pan to keep it all in... Anyone have some Kevlar laying around?? :D
Joe G- Thanks for the tip!! When I was racing full time, I counted a similar way, and it helps!! Seems to reduce the distraction from the other guys's side of the tree. If I'd have had a few more passes, I could have got the rythm down. Unfortunately, we were only allowed three time trials, and my .675 RT put me out in the first round. My rust from almost three years of no racing was showing... :(
It's still much easier staging, setting the Transbrake, and putting the engine on the rev limiter, and waiting for the tree to come down.... :D

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,
Man...The thought of a Neutral drop makes me shuutttttteeerrrrr....YIKES  LMFAO
I mean a Neutral drop with a car that weighs say 2800- 3200 lbs is one thing, But 2+ tons.....HOLY SCHNIKES...The bigger pan will catch some parts but not that Big Valve body... :D ...I would be more concerned about that drive shaft carrier bearing if you have a long bed, CC...
As for leaving off with a break stand. Probably the best and most effective. The converter locks up at probably 1100rpm I would guess so the rest is flat boost. If tire spinning is not a problem, get the boost up as much as possible. Remember the R/T is not always how fast you reacted to the lights but how the truck reacts when you let go. I do not suspect the 60 fts to be much better than a 1.9 due to the physics of all of this.
I say stall it up to Redline, let go and shift at redline....I think the manual tranny guys may have quicker trucks...
Carry On... :D
Note: For those who don't think "Fun" and "Diesel" are allowed in the same sentence, GO ON to the NEXT POST please!
Just got the Edge Juice because reports seemed to show it makes more HP than current SpeedZone/Bullydog PowerPlay.
Results:
Stock 16.71 @ 79.0
K&N Filter 16.60 @ 79.8
PowerPlay 15.1 @ 85.5 (dragstrip time)
Juice 14.66 @ 91.3
Juice + PowerPlay 14.35 @ 93.5 !!!
2001 Sierra 2500HD SLT D/A 4x4 Extended Cab Longbed. Stock exhaust.
These are on Vericom box except the 15.1; Vericom is VERY close to dragstrip (Vericom 15.22 @ 86.6mph on same pass as dragstrip showed 15.234 @ 85.28) Passes were all in 4wd, brakestanded to max boost (the quickest way). Didn't make a bunch of passes with Juice, just wanted some numbers...
With both boxes on max, Juice seems to powerdown on shifts some; love that slip detection feature! This is probably why top mph didn't go up much with both boxes, seemed a bit powered down in 5th gear. Oh well, there's only another 3.5mph to Top Speed Limiter 97mph anyway! smile.gif
