injectors pop

two questions:

1. how high is the pop for new stock injectors - 2150 psi ???
2. how far can I go with the pop ???

The IP's pressure is set by the injector pop pressure and the DS4 specs are as follows:

Model DS Electronic Pump

* Capacities to 25 BHP (19kW) cylinder
* Peak injection pressures to 13,000 psi (900 bar)
* 4, 5, 6 and 8 cylinder configurations
* Electronic spill control with single 12 volt solenoid actuator for timing and fuel control
* Four pumping plungers driven by internal cam ring
* Pump mounted solenoid driver with poppet valve closure detection
* High resolution pump mounted angular encoder
* Engine speeds to 5000 ERPM

Theoretically the pop pressure could be as high as 12,000 psi plus, however, it would probably wear out much quicker and in any case the injectors themselves have limitations on their max pop pressure which is a lot lower than the IP's maximum. I recommend checking with a performance/rebuilder/Stanadyne shop to get their recommendations.

FYI: On the 6.2L forum, one member was talking with an injector rebuilder about 2500psi injectors.
