Picked up a NAPA Gold oil filter #7202 for oil change on 2001 GMC Duramax this weekend. Is this the right filter. Just want to make sure. Been using AC PF2232's up to now.

Same number they gave me today--NAPA Gold, 7202--for my '02. I paid $8.49--what'd they charge you?

Jim Bob,
Paid $8.86 plus tax. I've read good things about the NAPA Gold filters. Are they better than the AC's? Got tired of trying to find decent price on them.

I think NAPA filters are good quality--we'll find out! I'm like you, I got tired of trying to get a decent price over the counter on an AC Delco--best I could get was $14, better than the dealer, but still too much. The only way to do it is order by mail from someone like Diesel Injection Services in Texas or AC Delco Direct--there are posts on this forum that talk about these sources. In the past, I've ordered other stuff from DIS and had good service. I'm just not at any one address long enough to take advantage of having it shipped because we live full-time in our fifth-wheel. Kind of a bummer not being able to change my own oil any more. Anyhow, good luck.

Jim Bob, I paid about $8.50 for my NAPA filter. 7202 is the correct part number.

NAPA Gold filters are excellent filters. I've been running them exclusively on all my gas powered vehicles for the last seven years, with no problems.

Note- NAPA Gold filters are manufactured by WIX.

At my next oil change I will compare quality between the black OEM filter and the NAPA 7202. The NAPA filter is slightly heavier than the black OEM when new. Hopefully that means it's constructed better than or equal to the OEM filters.

SonMnDMAX is right about the part being manufactured by WIX. And the WIX filter number is "probably" 57202 going by their usual numbering system if any of you have a WIX dealer in the area. The CarQuest is the same filter. Last 3 digits of the CarQuest number are probably 202, first 2 "could be" 85. FYI
