View Full Version : Automatic Mileage Calculator Spreadsheet
Does anyone know where to find the automatic mileage calculator spreadshee that has been mentioned before on this forum?
john2,
That spreadsheet was developed by Idle_Chatter. If you want a copy of it post your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.
AKDmax.....Thanks for the offer. My email is jphelm@gwi.net.
AKDmax.....That's a great looking truck and retrax system. I've just sent an e mail to them for a price for my dmax.
Thanks. Retrax is the nicest cover and the company was very nice to deal with. The spreadsheet is in your mail box. You may want to edit your address out of the previous post to avoid spam.

It should be there.
Disclaimer: I did not create this sheet. It was created by Idle_Chatter, he earned the credit for this.

it would be nice to keep track of milage on the pc, and not on the recepts.. does this SS work with liters and kilometers, or only gallons and miles?

Nick, it's set up for miles and gallons, but the way it makes the calculation all you need to do is change the labels and enter liters and kilometers.

Okay! I've figured out what happened to the link in my signature - Yahoo decided that I have to pay for all my "public" folders to continue to be public. I've paid the fee and they are now open to all again! (Sorry!) I've also edited the sheet for our "Northern Neighbors" and there is a Kilometer per Liter version on there, too. Enjoy! tongue.gif

Idle Chatter,
Can it be set to compensate for larger tires?
ex. 285/75/16 (about 10% off)
oops ! forgot to say thanks!

Pepperidge, I think you should be okay with a tire error as it will be consistent. Even though the distance shown on the odometer will be inaccurate, it will *stay* proportionally inaccurate, so the mpg should be okay tank-to-tank. It would be pretty easy to throw the 10% into the miles and mpg calc cells if you really wanted. Email me and I can do it for you.

walkerKD,
Look in Idle Chatters signature and click on excel spreads and then choose the one that applies to you, kilo's or mile per gallon. He is the one that created it.
AKDmax--please send me a copy of the fuel calculator--I'll be leaving in 2 wks for about a 5000 mile trip. I'll be using it often. Thank you, blakegeo@hotmail.com

AKDmax,
Just looked at your pics again. Lets see, the top pic looks like it was taken at Horsetail Falls just outside Valdez, Alaska and the one below that looks like Worthington Glacier, just below Thompson Pass. Am I right? Do I get a prize?
Oh ya....send me a sheet also.
Tell ya what Maverick, if you can tell me what airplane is in the background of the 4th pic I'll send you the spreadsheet. You got the others right, they were too easy ;) .
For everyone else that I sent a non-working sheet, drop me a line and I'll make it right. I apologize!!!
It's an **0 Warthog, but I have the spreads already. I wrote my own (below).
It's interesting to see what this forum software chooses to edit. Alright, how this:

Hey! you guys can get one right away by just clicking that big orange "EXCEL SPREADS" link in my signature! Give ol'd AKDMAX a break on the emailing already!!
Thanks Idle_chatter. I don't mind, but it's easier to download from your folder. I have been sending the first spread you made, the new one is pretty nice. I may have to upgrade... I see a new sig line in the future. < Ver.2 Mileage Calculator spreadsheet > LOL

I first offered up a copy of the mpg spreadsheet here on TDP well over a year ago. The response was less than zero. I'm really happy that people are getting some use out of it and that you are not only enjoying it but being such a generous "distributor" AK. I guess I owe you a beer sometime. Not being too savvy on international units, I knocked out a kilometers per liter version, but it looks like I need to go back and make a kilometers per Imperial gallon, eh? I can't help your mileage - but I can help you track it! Like software that I provide, it comes with an absolutely 100% money-back 5 byte or 5 minute unlimited warranty! tongue.gif

Nels,
Any chance of getting your "Read-only" protection password for your service/mileage spreedsheet?
It looks great and I'm using it but I wanted to change a couple things...
Thanks.

Wow, two pages! (And folks still can't figure out how to just download the sheets from my Yahoo! Folders! ) I have a question for the Canadians - I have a Kilometers per Liter version, but having never purchased fuel up there, how do you want to track your economy? Is it km/liter or km/Imperial gallon? Do you purchase your fuel by the liter or the I-gal? If it's km/Igal - all I have to do is change some lables. Otherwise, I have to put in some additional fields and columns to do steps in both liters and Igals.
Whew! Finally back from a busy couple weeks. drove 2100 miles all total with a low of 14mpg towing a four wheeler to Chicken (waaay too fast!) and 22 unloaded going to Homer. Enjoyed a discussion with Maverick and DieselBob while I was down in Anchorage. Good guys! Doesn't look like anyone else wants this, or they figured out how to download files from Idle_Chatters site... Seems my particular truck likes to drink fuel over 72 MPH. Sure does ride smooth at that speed though...

Hi I am interested in the spreadsheet program with the difference added for 285/75/16 Thank You jeffrey.shaffer@prodigy.net
Idle_Chatter,
In Canada you buy your fuel in Litre's and if you look at the fuel economy of a new car it's always indicated in L/100Km's city/highway. But.....old habits die hard, I always figure out my fuel economy in MPG (miles per Imperial gallon). ;)
