2nd run- stock no power braking- 16.966 at 81.94MPH
3RD run- juice power braking, tow haul- 15.232 at 88.68MPH
4TH run- juice, power braking, no tow haul- 15.163 at 88.85 MPH
5TH run- juice, power braking, tow haul- 15.025 at 89.19MPH
i was disapointed i didn't get in the 14's. but i think i will when i get my banks 4in exhaust that was supose to be here last thursday.
ok how bad did i hurt my truck?
also i want to go out again with a bigger group so lets plan a BIG GTG at ennis sometime really soon to test out all of our trucks. so lets plan on it. email me at tmg115@hotmail.com if you are interested or post with your email adress and we can talk that way
here are some pics. the red duramax is me (tmg115) and the white dodge is chris (Chris N5CWM)

i had a blast :D
Don't complain very respectable numbers it's a truck after all .... Hey you had the lighting at the hole shot ...... Nice launch ..... Hard to tell, who one?
MAC :D
he won. he got a 14.1 and i got a 15.25.
but i really want to go back out there with a huge group of people. that would be a blast.
If you want to dip into the 14's, Cancel the order for the Ranchand ;) tongue.gif Isn't that what Alli-max has dangling off the front of his truck ? Will it swing out for use as a portable bridge ? :D
TMG,
I posted my thoughts on 14s in the other 1/4 time thread. If you really want to run 14's (in the summer heat), then you need to add propane (as Kevin pointed out they did with the DuraMaximizer 14.1 sec pass), or change gears. Maybe 4.11s, but 4.456's would be a better bet. You shouldn't need any more mph, but the gears will get you there quicker. If you do go with lower gears, then you's probably also figure out how to hook up 6th gear--then tell the rest of us........

TMG,
I don't thaink an ocassional power-brake will hurt the converter. Convertoers used to last a long time on even Super Gas cars (run mid 9s) until they started using Trans Brakes.
Blaine
You dont want to power brake for a long time as the ATF temps will climb VERY fast. Hopefully, the guy on the tree will be quick about it.
What is the weight difference between the vehicles? That is VERY substantial!
my weight was 4550 with out me
the lightning was 4375 with him and he maybe weighed 200 pounds. maybe
the dodge was 4740 with him and maybe chris can tell us how much he ways.

That's strange, my shipping weight for a 2001 Ext/Cab 2/wd Dmax w/Allison came in at 6200 lbs. I think I will weigh mine and see if that's correct. With a full tank and my lard butt in the truck I would expect it to weigh at least 6400 +.
Yes strange, On the MSO from GM mine has a shipping weight of 5971 lbs.
2002 2500HD Regular Cab 4x4 8 ft bed Dur/Allison
alright i am going back to the track July 12. so does anyone else want to go? i will be there at 6 and racing starts at 7PM so if you want to go post here with your email adress and i will email on more info.
tmg115,
Where did you get that weight from? Seems awful light ....... IMO ........ Did you strip it down? Perhaps kilograms.......?At that weight, my truck weighs 3000 LBS more, cannot be right ......I know it's a Dual wheel 1 ton but has composite bed outer skin so that sheds a little ..... Does the 2500 have composite bed skin? Just wondering...... I scaled mine at a scrape yard, very accurate ........
MAC smile.gif
mine was scaled at the race track.
My '84 C10 long bed w/ a 350 weighs 4500. Been to the feedyard enough times to know. My dads CC LB 4x4 2500HD D/A weighed 6500 on certified scales before any hitches were put in it.

Tom, your truck weight on the track scale was
6,750 Lbs. with you in it. Mine was 6,740, and
I weigh 145 Lbs. So my truck is about 6,600
empty. I had about 1/3rd tank of fuel.
My best run with the Edge on was 16.2 @ 86 MPH.
That is the only mod I have on my Ram (2001 Quad
Cab shortbed 4x4 2500, 3.54 gears & NV4500 5 spd
manual tranny).
My stock run was 19 seconds at 72 MPH!
The Edge box cuts almost 3 seconds off the 1/4
mile time and trap speed increase of 14 MPH!. HUGE difference. :D

I gotta ? fellas
I read the thread and got to ponderin. There this man that lives around here thats has a dmax allison that ran at the local strip. After his 13.1 run I had to ask what was up. My Fordy stock run was 17.3 powerbraking it and all I have is an airbox and 5" straight pipe. He had the juice, a 4" staight pipe, some kind of reflash (I think the name was ATS???)propane, and a drilled airbox. The truck screamed like a scolded dog. 2wd ext cab. Now you tell me thats slow, I'd like to see a ricer race him.

AINT NUTHIN LIKE RUNNIN IN THE 14'S smile.gif TMG!!!! I MIGHT TRY TO MAKE IT DOWN YOUR WAY WHEN YOU RUN AGAIN
The 4x4 launch gets you out clean, but the 4wd does not completely release in my experience. Once you unload (coast) the driveline it will fully release. A 2wd run would be better IF the traction was there!
I hope to get mine (#7400 w/ me @ <200#> ;) to the track some day...
