The top speed looks pretty good, but I was expecting closer to 14sec on the ET. Did you have a lot of wheelspin on launch?

Numbers look good to me. I ran a 15.3 @ 88.3mph with my 3500 juiced up.

I drag raced for several years. You probably know this already........ETs are largely dependent on track conditions, air temp, gearing and tires, and driver technique. MPH is the measure of power, ET is the measure of having the combo "right" for 1/4 or 1/8 mile runs. My take is this.......

I see where DMaximizer advertises low 14 sec ETs with their set-up, but more than likely that was an optimized set-up under ideal conditions. I am suspicious that you can just drop in a chip and run low 14s in these trucks. Just as a rifle that shoots a one-time 1/4 inch group doesn't mean it's a 1/4 inch rifle, a one time low 14 sec pass doean't mean these trucks are really consistent low 14 sec trucks.

You need, intake, exhaust, gears and tires, (converter?), and a praticed driver before all that will come togther. Add to all that a 6500 lb+ pick-up truck isn't likely to be the most consistent platform for drag racing, and low 15 sec ETs seems reasonable from these trucks.

According to my Moroso Power/Speed calculator, a 90 mph run would have a corresponding 14.4 sec ET. It is often hard to get a full blown drag car to get it's ET to match it's speed. Street vehicles are even more difficult, especially turboed street vehicles. This out MPHing their ET is mainly due to their "street" gearing.

Then again, I could be entirely out to lunch on this........

Yeah, I guess you're right. My only experience was with a 15sec. VW bug and 13.9sec Mustang GT. The Mustang picked up a full sec and couple mph when slicks were put on, so that's why I asked if there was wheelspin.

My 60ft times were so bad, the anouncer used to really hammer me about sleeping at the line. ;)

Their banner ad is a little deceiving; the 14.1 sec 1/4 was run with a DURAMAXIMIZER and a PS2000 propane set up.

On the 15.252 @ 90.7 mph run I held 2 psi of boost on the line and hooked up with little slippage with the sun out and temps in the mid 80's. On a second run late in the evening I ran a 16.4 @ 90.23 mph spinning the tires in the 1st 3 gears. Temps dropped to the mid 70's and I held 4 psi of boost off the line which was too much on the cooler track. Both runs were in 2wd with the stock 245 steeltex a/t's @ 40psi. Next Fri I'll try it in 4wd and see what kind of numbers I can get. How much boost is safe to hold in 4wd?

I thought the Duramaximizer truck was a Reg cab, 2wd, base model truck. Thats alot less weight to push down the track. I heard they had slicks on that truck also for that run. I am 7300lbs vs probably 6000 or so. I could see 14's with propane under these conditions.
