98 6.5 rough idle

When I got home tonight my truck idled a little rough for a minute before I shut it down. It has happened only one other time and went away. Not a shake the truck rough but noticable. The only thing done to the motor is the injectors at 80,000 miles and I am at 83,000 now. I am going to change out the filter, can't hurt, but is this a sign of the pump going out?

Could be the IP, but you're due for the 6.5TD Stalling... article on Members Area page, Reference Section @ bottom. It gives a good step by step checklist proceedure for finding the trouble. Could be lift pump or lift pump circuit (I believe this throws a code for a 98) or a few other things.

I was thinking the FSD was crapping out but it does not stall out. Just the rough idle. It's fine now so I will see if it does it again.

Make sure the four torque screws are tight on the PMD to cooler.
