I was fortunate enough to win a new Juice 4.30 in a drawing at the recent Northeast Diesel Gettogether and based upon our 1660 mile round trip half of which was run with a Juice 3.5 and the other half 4.30, I've come to the following observations:
1st leg, NC to Winchester, Va 357 miles hauling a small tractor of another diesel page member, speeds somewhat held down by heavy rain all the way, took on 20.9 gallons in Winchester $1.379 per gallon for an average of 17.3mpg
2nd leg, Winchester to Milford, Penn, 338 miles, heavy rain, interstate driving, hauling tractor about 1/2 way, 19.8 gallons at $1.499 per gallon, 17.6 mpg
3rd leg, Milford, Penn to Cornwall Bridge, Cn., and back to Milford, Penn, estimate over half of miles on two lane 40 mph roads, new Juice unit added prior to leaving Cornwall, 326 miles, 18.1 gal at $1.499, 18.0 mpg
4th leg, Milford, Penn back to Winchester, Va, 298 miles (didn't have to make side trip to deliver tractor), beautiful weather, interstate speed $1.32.9 mpg, 18.6 mpg
5th leg, Winchester, Va to Raleigh, NC, mostly interstate but used juice heavily and often, 340 miles, 21.6 gal at $1.339, 17 mpg
Observations about Juice 4.30... 1) engine revs which indicate level setting are much clearer, 2)vehicle idle has really smoothed out, very steady 3) smoke when juicing more noticable 4) adapted to Allison with no apparent "learing difficulties" 5) at interstate speed engine gives off slightly different tone, neither good or bad, just different...Jim
