Not OEM and I've never heard of anyone doing a conversion to mate the Allison with the 6.0L either.

Allison transmissions are used almost exclusively in commercial applications where an auto is needed for medium duty. The 6.0L Navistar Diesel engine is not only used in Ford pickups, but also in medium duty and utility chassis applications, like motorhomes. Although I have not seen any with this combination, it is conceivable, and likely. The Ford tranny used in the pickups is not up to the task of medium duty, unlike Allison.

I've been told the power stroke 6.0 is an almost duplicate of the allison 1000, of course Ford would know what small changes would need to be made to prevent patent infringment.

Have you ever stuck your head under a furd with the torkshift ? It is obviosly not an allison the pan is considerably smaller and there is not a spin on trans filter in sight . I would say its a bad rumor.

My "guess" would be that possibly certain medium duty models would have an Allison as an option just like the Cummins engine is/was available as an option.
