View Full Version : Lack of Duramax Diesels engines?

Just ordered a new 05 to replace the 01 Duramax I have now. My local dealer tells me that the Duramax engine is behind in production and not sure when I will get my 05 due to this reason. Is this bull or is he on the right track? :rolleyes:

Hey Arnie, what's up.. Met you up at Kennedy's when you got your exhaust put on......

I ordered my '05 in October and it was built in 30 days. I have an LT with everything but sun roof and DVD.

Hey Buck! I see you also chose to go from a ext. cab to a crew cab this time. This will be my first crew cab. I Ordered one with the sunroof, it sounded like a cool feature. Your truck looks sharp, I like the long box crew cab look of your truck. I also ordered a long box. For me its the only way a truck should be made! I just ordered mine last week, and my dealer is giving me this story, about a lack of Duramax diesels, not sure if its true or not. I hope it come like your in 30 days that would be awesome! Maybe see ya at Kennedy's sometime, I need to get there once my truck is here for a few mods... smile.gif

Hey Guys , don't believe th B.S. I ordered my 05
D-Max fully loaded on 2/25 with all but, the DVD. Just got the build date of 3/21 I'll keep you posted.

Yeah I'm new. trying to figure out how to post replies. What I was going to say was that I went to my local dealer in Jan. We sat down at his computer and built my new Duramax, then he did a 50 mile search of other dealers. found several with all the options I wanted and had my choice of color. Got everything exc. sunroof & power seat and had it in 3 days. Maybe we didnt have a shortage here in NY back in Jan.

Arnie, it sounds to me like the dealer is trying to make some money on the Dmax trucks :rolleyes:

BTW, the 3500 CC long SRW is the only way to go ;) :D I love mine :cool:

:D Here is the scoop... 4weeks and 2 days and I have my new 05 D-Max. No shortage here. It was fully loaded, it even has a sunroof.
