View Full Version : JK/Van Aaken 200+ Screamer!
Well all I can say is if you have upgraded your trans. then this box belongs on your truck. Not only is this new tune incredibly strong it is also VERY smooth. The drivability is perfect for all occasions, but when you decide to punch it...hold on.
It does run strong for sure! 13.5 1/4 from one box is very nice.
Big kudos to JK for the tuning work / dyno testing on that box.
Just be sure to give your transmission plenty of time to adjust. It's pretty aggressive through the shifts...
Has anyone compared it to the Quadzilla 215? My truck with just the 215 program went a 13.3 @ 101 mph. With the Hot Juice with Attitude stacked on level 3, it went a 13.1 @ 104. Now I think I am having a fuel deliverly problem when I try to up the Juice anymore. Two runs on level 4, it went a 13.1 @ 100 and a 13.2 @ 97. Bucking at the end of the track.
Wow. Is there a consensus as to what's the best route to tranny upgrade? Will the Allison adapt to the 200+ horses eventually without upgrade? Sounds like NOT
You'll need a Suncoast III or ATS internal/external kits. It will adapt. There is NO transmission protect in this box.
I think the most I ever got from the Quad was 430-440HP on my dyno. The VA does 470.
Hey John- I looked at the boxes on your website. Does the 150 box have tranny protect? Is the Edge Juice Hot version measured at the rear wheels?
Any update on the lift pump wiring harness availability?
I'm pre-oem and don't need the bleed assist so much, I can prefill. Have you thought of making a wiring harness for pre-oem applications?
Has anyone run the VA 200+ at the track yet? It is being called a "race" box so I am wondering how it performs in that condition. Dyno numbers are nice but unfournately we don't race dynos.

Motovet or JK,
Can I try out your VA 200+. My Stage II Suncoast should be good for 500 RWHP right?
Robert,
If you are heading to the Pull Off, look for Darrell. He's the one that says his stereo is louder than yours ;) Well, you met him anyhow.
The Suncoast II would not be my choice. The III is so much more for just a few $500 more. You'd have to ask Joe, but I'm really not sure that the OE clutches are up to the task.
Trace,
The 90/150 has trans protect. The lift harness circuitry has passed first testing level, and is getting ready for another test. I'm thinking we'll beef it up in case someone tries to run a mongo "canopener" type of fuel pump with it. Prime feature is not geared towards filter filling, rather helping the pump make 5,000 psi in shortest possible time to help at startup.

My Stereo is about Sound Qaulity not Sound Pressure (loud). And I just added four more amps and removed all the passive crossovers. I do not have pics yet because my digital camera will not sink with computor anymore.
I will not be able to make it this year to the yearly GTG, I just started a new job and I have no vacation saved up yet.
Here I thought I could stir up a squabble at the campground... :D
If you'd like, I can get one to you, but again, I'm not sure how well the stock clutches will hold. I guess I'd want to be sure that you understood that this is intended as a race box and does NOT have transmission slip protection in it

Better not send me one I might want to keep it and I do not plan on going from Stage II to Stage III any time soon. Maybe next year I might go to Stage V.
Good idea. You know I lost count how many race boxes, or "stacks" that I have unsold in the past few months...

That just goes to show what a stand up guy you are JK.

The rears look like hell after the pull-off. Next year I will have the nerve to pull a 4WD launch. Don't know why I didn't this time....EGT's didn't bother me much. I took a few of the guys out for a spin also, and that scrubbed off some rubber as well. I should'nt be posting here at work though I do LOOK busy.

It looked impressive at the 4-mile marker, especially knowing that the combined weight was nearly 20K. :D

Yea I would have liked to see what it looked like, but the guy holding the GPS had his head in the way of the rearview looking at all the smoke. Same thing my wife does when she is telling me the lane is clear when I make a change. Wonder if anyone got any pics of that run?
Kennedy,
I really would like to learn more about your VA 200+ drag file. I'm really into high HP diesel upgrades and I think the duramax has alot of potential. Another thing I am a little suprised by is the lack of turbo choices. This motor with faster spoolup would be awsome. Thanks for any light you can shed on these subjects.
Jim Shaw
Faster spool up would be nice, BUT we'll kill the Horsepower IMHO....
The Dodge has awesomely abundant TQ, but the turbo chokes it up pretty bad.
The Garrett VNT is SUPPOSED to offer the best of both worlds, but it seem that GM may have used it for power management more than anything...
With injectors and the big VA, I've watched the plume float off int the air from a LONG ways away. It will basically fog out a lane, and sometimes even two!
