What is the consensus on the best oil filter for the Duramax? I bought 2 of the OEM's initially which I have used. I'm ready to buy 1/2 dozen at a time now, should I stick with GM's or what is the best filter for the dollar spent? Thanks

Napa Gold or Wix... (Same filter)
7202 is the Napa Gold part number.
Of course, you can't go wrong with the OEM black or the AC Delco blue filter. For the money, the Wix has them beat IMHO.
STP oil filter p/n S9100 are made by Champion Labs Inc. the same as the oem AC PF2232.
The price is $4.99 each at AutoZone. Web site-Autozone.com.
Baldwin oil filter p/n B1441 from:
Oil Filter Service Co. 888-232-5126 Portland Oregon costs $8.74 each in cases of 12.
http://catalog.baldwinfilter.com/lookup/
www.kennedydiesel.com costs $6.30 each when purchasing 12 plus S/H.
Wix Oil Filter p/n 57202 and Napa Gold filter p/n 7202 are both made by Dana Corp
Isuzu oil filter p/n is 97214983, same as GM P/N, is made by Champion Laboratories, Inc.
Hastings Oil Filter p/n is LF-524
Amsoil oil filter p/n SDF-52 are $11.40 retail and less for wholesale buyers.
.
DO NOT USE the Fram PH5 filter it does not have the internal bypass valve. Deutsch filters are also are not recommended.
Thanks et!
For future reference, the Baldwin filters are $7ea in case lot on my site.

I just bought an STP S9100 oil filter for my 2002 Duramax. This is to inform the list that the STP is NOT identical to the GM AC PF2232. Under examination, there are differences that are quite obvious. The differences may not effect performance, but they are enough to show that the two filters are NOT identical. From now on, I will stick with the AC PF2232.
