View Full Version : Strange intermittent problem at startup
The last week or so on a few occasions the truck has done something strange at startup. When it happens the engine will barely run with a long lope. If I turn off the key and wait a bit it starts right up and is fine. Also during some hard runs to test out the new Suncoast while pulling hard in 5th the engine cutout as if it was starved for fuel. I changed out my fuel filters last night, maybe that will do the trick.

Try to eliminate any engine mods as a possibility. I'd also loosen the fuel tank cap to see if excessive vacuum might be an issue. We see this occasionally with the 6.5, where the cap vent doesn't do what it needs to do to limit pressure/vacuum.
If the above doesn't help, a Tech II or a aftermarket programmer that has the ability to display engine parameters could be used to look at fuel-rail pressure and so on.
