I picked up a 82 J 6.2 to go through. Why park it and rebuild my c. Any way looking through the advertisers section came up with good prices but lots of ??'s. It seems marine pistons are used in a lot of the higher horse engines? Coming from a gas background compression equals hosepower. Why go from 22-1 to 18-1?. I also saw in the 6.5 section somebody mentioned crane cams makes a cam. But going to there web site showed nothing. Is the factory cam it? I believe the lifters are roller? So again a gas you can reuse the roller lifters. Any performance recomdations will be appreciated. Thanks in advance Steven

Lower compression with higher turbo boost makes more power than higher compression with less boost.

Contact Jamie at Diesel Depot (one of the advertisers here) for the cam.

As for other performance mods - there are all kinds of things you can do. If you are staying NA, then follow the lead of Dr. Lee and the mods that he made.

Do a search - there is lots of stuff here...
