Sorry about not responding to this sooner, but just found it. The 12V relay for the transmission takes the current load off of the ignition switch contacts much in the same way the relay reduces the load of the contacts in the oil pressure switch.
There's a company selling it on the net for $50 or so, but I simply bought a Bosch relay and wired it in myself. I believe the "E" wire feeding power to the 4L80E is the one you tap into. Many high mile transmission problems can be attributed to weak ignition switch contacts. I put the relay in rather than wait for problems to show up. The shift indicator (P-R-N-D..etc) light is wired to the same circuit. Seems they should have used a relay box under the hood to feed power to several circuits, it would reduce the load on the ignition switch and benefit many other circuits.
