My trucks in the shop getting a #7 injector put in it????? Its got just over 17K on it , the dealer tells me the injector had a elecrical short not a failer on the fuel end. Any on had this happen to there truck? It stayed running but I dont know if you could drive it ,It had really bad fuel knock and would only rev up to 1800 rpm. The tec told me when this happends it turns off a bank of 4 injectors to protect the controler? I am a little disapointed to say the least ,17K is way to early for problems! if it failed in the first 1000 miles I may understand! Is any one else having problems with there lly ? I am heading out to PA for a week with my 30' camper on saturday so I hope they fix the problem 100% the first time!!!! I know my rental 1/2 ton cant tow it!

Loose or intermittent electrical connections at the injectors have been reported a few times. If it's any consolation, this is the first I've heard of a shorted injector solenoid. Would be interesting to note the trouble codes the tech saw. Do you have the service order? It might have the codes listed.

MP It should be out of the shop tues~wen.... I can find out what codes it set, the tec working on it is a good guy and has a Dmax himself. When I had my GMC I took him for a ride with the juice hidden under then hood! He was sold 3 weeks later he had a dmax/alli , He didnt know about juice up to that point! this was back in late 2001/early 2002..... I know he has a 4" system and juice but I dont know what else.... the service MGR is a fair guy too... they didnt say a word about my EGT probe not connected to anything (lly juice with monitor) ;)

PS I have about 3500 mile with a juiced lly,I dont think the failer is related to juice..

If I recall correctly po 205, po 1247... injector # 7 was replaced due to a shorted solinoid. 1247 was a group injector code that would disable 4 of the injectors to protect the drive... again I may have the numbers wrong but I am close.... smile.gif 1/2 ton rental just wasnt the same..... good HP but no TQ, it need 5500rpm to do what the lly can do at 1400~1500 rpm!
