Thinking about buying an 01 or 02?

I need to update currently have a 96 3500 6.5. I really like the truck but want to update. Anyone have any idea's or cautions i should be aware of for the 2001s 0r 02s?

the 01 and 02 had injector issues but are fully warranteed to 200000 miles or 7 years. i have 3,see signiture, but have a ways to go to catch my 6.2 .there all good when they're running...only had problems with the 02,injectors,which they took care of..

I bought an '01 with all 8 injectors already done under warranty and 73K miles on the odometer.

Its a great truck and seems to pull a bit harder than my '05 LLY.

My only complaint is the driver's bucket seat sits lower, is not as adjustable, and not nearly padded or as comfortable as my '05. It may get replaced with a better one out of a wrcck.

I have a 2003 LB7 dmax it seems to me all the duramax diesels have weak injectors I can't say about the 05 but 01 to 04 all seem to be failing. I just had mine done at 102098 km under warranty but they probably will fail in another 100000 km which will cost me $4000 canadian plus labour. If you buy one, it's a great motor but keep in mind you more than likely will have to put injectors in it. If you can hold off keep your eye on aftermarket stuff they might come out with a better injector that will last. At least you'll know you can upgrade to something better when they fail.
