GM and US Army just introduced it's latest counter terrorism vehicle at the AutoShow. It's called a Smartruck II and it's built around a HD 2003 Silverado DuraMax! Check out the streaming video and other pictures. Now that's One mean DuraMax! Could you imagine the expression on the face of your neighbors if you came home with one of these? LOL....

It's not really a "concept truck" in the normal sense. It was built for a potential(?) DOD contractor (I believe) by a guy named Daniel (USA6x6) on Pirate 4x4. You can find some info on the buildup by looking at some Daniel's posts (last 4-6 months or so) at www.pirate4x4.com/forum in the "General 4x4 Discussion" section.
Wher did that post about not taking your HD offroad go?? smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

Whaddaya mean don't take it off road? Tow/haul is the greatest thing for navigating a steep down hill in four low. Don't heat up the brakes as much. If I could have it my way mine would never see pavement. See signature

Looks like a good way to hide an '03 front end!
Just kidding, its starting to grow on me (like fungus).......

If this is the future of Chev truck design, I'll be keeping my '02 for a long time.

I was thinking the same thing about the new styling. My first thought was they didn't need bullet-proof protection, as how can anyone fire bullets when they're laughing so hard.
But seriously, GM must be convinced about this look as the entire lineup has the characteristic slanted front lights. Thank goodness they didn't screw-up the retro SSR.
After market folks must be wringing their hands with the new GM style.

I like that front bumper. I wonder how much the "whole" package would cost?
What's the option code for the rocket launcher?
