What is the best location for the map sensor on these new air intakes i see like the AFE is right behind the filter and the MAC is up line some others are closer to the eng. side of the intake pipe did i read somewere that it makes a differance or did i dream that?

Mass AirFlow sensors utilize components (usually some variation of a thermistor pair) that convert changes in temperature to a signal proportional to airflow. GM installed its MAF sensor close to the airbox - perhaps - to minimize the effect of underhood/engine temperatures.

Otherwise, where it should be placed depends on the engineering development that went into the intake air system. May be different for different cold-air intake kits.
