I often read about the poor earth connections, Cab to chassis, ect.
I use my GMC truck mainly for pulling a horse float. I notice that the instr  iment panel
does some weird stuff.
For example, if I am crusing along at approx 100klm/ 2300rpm, apply my direction indicator the
speedo will often flicker.
I have seen an earth strap the goes past the engine down pipe, but havent seen any others at this stage.
I am trying to fast track the locations of these earth straps.
1. Is there more than one ?
2. Where are they located?
Do the locations vary, from vehicle to vehicle or
Model to model.
I appreciate any information that will assist me
to ID these locations.

I know your looking for more of the ground straps however The speedo flikering is not an uncommon thing aroun here. Mine does it at start up sometimes.

Good Day!

You might want to look at DTC 35 - Help! (http://forum.thedieselpage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=004386#000000)

Blessings!

For things noticeable in the dash, I would check the ground that is near the ALDL first. I had problems with blinkers, heater controls and the radio. Problem was a loose ground there.

If still having probs, go to where Moondoggie tells ya to, there are a lot of good posts there.

Good luck,
Waldo

Hi Shad, your response is appreciated, its sad to hear that you have the speedo flicking problem as well.
The good news is that with the Link of information
that moondoggie and Uncle Wally have provided.
Both of us have the potential fast track to the locations, that are potentially causing our problem.
So its all good. Thank you for all your responses.
Have Fun, Safely.

Bnave95, thanks for the definition of the ALDL,
I have used this plug on 6 occasions,I just call it the OBD plug. I will look in the OEM position
as my plug is located on the RH side due to the
RH conversion.
Thanks again.
Have Fun, Safely.
