How long do the codes that are posted from the SES light stored? Is it x number of ingnition cycles or is it stored until cleared? The other day I had the SES light come on and I was able to pull the code. It is P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction. The SES light has went out on its own but I want to take it to the dealer to have it serviced and I don't want them to tell me the code is no longer there.

Thanks,
Brian

Brian,

Not sure if this is related to your problem but see the following GMTechLink article.

Loose Crankshaft Reluctor (http://service.gm.com/gmtechlink/images/issues/may04/TLmay04e.html#story21)

I think that depends on the code, i.e. if you run out of fuel (or your fuel cap is loose - air leak) you will throw a code (SES) for several ignition cycles, but it will go out after refueling and cycling a couple times. If you throw a code due to trans issue (like a clogged filter)it will be there until cleared. Personal experience.
