Fastest DMax?

Hey Ya'll, maybe you can help me.
I've been wondering... what's the fastest DMax in the 1/4 mile?
About 3 weeks ago, a bunch of us attended the Mopar Meet near Atlanta. We convinced the track to offer a Diesel-only class (we should have said diesel truck only, a dang bug was racing), anyway, the guys at ATS brought down severial trucks to run. They ran a Dodge 2500 with a Cummins and a 5 speed at 12.5 seconds in the 1/4. That was an impresive display of shifting. However, they also ran their DMax with the Allison. They were dialed in at 13.4, and were running it, except for trouble off the line. They were launching in 4WD (everyone with 4WD was doing the same) and I think they were over-loading the IFS with torque because the front-end was shifting, shimming and the whole thing was wagging for the first 60 feet or so.
Now, even with this loss of traction off the line, they were still running 13.4s. I don't know what they had done to the truck, but I think I heard "3 boxes" :eek: Now, I think they're working with injectors also.
On another note, a buddy of mine ran 14.4 with just a juice and launching at 15 psi in 4WD High. Not bad for a daily driver.
I just want to know, is this the fastest DMax yet?

Are any of the boxes allowing the engine to rev higher and is the speed limiter being addressed?

15 to 18 lbs of boost seemed to be my limit above that all 4 spin jump and buck........just like you described......mine was a 9.103 1/8 mile @74 standard juice(3.8)level 4 4hi.........rain rain go away.........

The broken tie rods were on PEANUT's truck. 4x4 launches, lots of boost, propane and BD PP IIRC.

Ah, but if the peak HP and torque are @ 2500 rpm, what good is the extra RPM except for top speed???

I'm sure in time, someone will figure out how to make the IFS front go straight on a launch. I have a pretty good idea what is happening, but my truck is a daily driver so I'll leave it alone for now.

The 13.4 run is the fastest I've heard of. You have to go to the other diesel web sites to get information on the leading edge high powered D/As. Seems like this web site is the last to find out about them.

There's lots of D/A competition information on the TDR and diesel-central.
