Kennedy, Matt (SoMnDmax), Minn-Kota, Grant, and myself (Jeff) were the only Dmax trucks at this event. We had about 17 pullers I believe. Quite a few TDR folks there. We showed them what horsepower was and they fought back and showed us up on torque. The rack was too short for Johns truck so he didn't get to run. Minn-Kota elected not to try his Quad 110 also.
Top 3 hp runs and only 3 Dmax pulled as follows:
Grant's 02 Chevy........492 hp and 865 lb ft
Matt's 03 Chevy.........466 hp and 827 lb ft
Jeff (me) 01 GMC........444 hp and 777 lb ft

All three of us smoked the tires on the rollers on our last runs. This is abviously not smoking.

My other runs are as follows:

Stock-Straight pipe and UNI:
261.9 hp 449.5 lb ft

Quad 135 installed:
405.1 hp 746.6 lb ft

Quad 135 stacked with secret weapon:
444.1 hp 777.0 lb ft

The Quad 135 lives up to its numbers by improving my numbers from stock by 143.2 hp and 297.1 lb ft of TORQUE!

Can't wait till the next one.
I know were the next one is gonna be! ;) Comming Matt?

Mav,

Not bad for an AMC!

At first I was ****ed that my truck wouldn't fit, but then I realized that it saved me $50, and I got to play on the dyno and abuse OTHER trucks...

Anybody know what the stack combos where   Very respectable numbers. Dodge boys have got to be sitting up and taking notice of the Duramax capabilities of just programming and boxes and still stock motor. Later Jeremy

AMC..lol I noticed later that the G was switched back to A again before we left. hmmm? Didn't get a pic of that though as it was dark.

Numbers were pulled on a Dynojet.

Dodge boys have got to be sitting up and taking notice of the Duramax capabilities of just programming and boxes and still stock motor.naw, they are still cleaning grease from under their fingernails. But they did put up some good TQ numbers for sure. Averaged out between the dodges and Chevys, we weren't that far behind. I guess that's a way of manipulating the numbers to appear better in the TQ catagory for us. ha.

Super Dave...it was a DynoJet. All the trucks ran the same dyno....all the same advantage...if any.

Stack combo's.....I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you. You have to admit, it was an impressive run of Dmax's http://forums.stangnet.com/images/smilies/worship.gif .

Jeremy, the combos are top secret.... Only those in the know know... tongue.gif

We did learn one thing- my '03 doesn't appreciate the "big stack" like an '02 does- my truck with the same combo as Grant's came up 24 hp and 17 ft.lbs short. I went back up on the dyno to try and cross 500/900 just for spite, but it didn't happen. Ended up with 468 HP and 848 TQ being my "unofficial" bests. Next time. :D Didn't get my numbers written down at the end of the list though after my last set of pulls.

It was nice meeting up with the Dodge Boys again!! Good bunch of guys! Minn-Kota, nice to meet you to! Hope your drive home was good!

HiTech Motorsport's crew was top-notch. Hopefully we can get back together there again sometime. They know thier stuff when it comes to LS-1, LT-1 Chevys and Mopar B/RB's and Hemis. Couple of NASTY cars sitting in the shop, and one very nasty NHRA Stock Eliminator car came out of that shop. Damn good guys!

Jeff- where's John's favorite picture you took next to my truck??? :D  :D

John, haven't had much luck getting your truck on the dyno lately? Just another benefit of a short box :D

Matt,

In retrospect, the combo that we used on your truck was not the same as used previously. This is quite possibly the difference. That or 2003 program differences...

Micheal just remember that real trucks have 8 foot beds :D :D :D

with a 32' enclosed trailer who needs a little longer bed. You can put four 8' beds inside and haul 4X as much :D

Yeah, it was a good event. Lots of great people. Lots of lessons learned and information exchanged freely. It's always fun to talk trucks at an event like that.

Not real surprised that we had those numbers from Team Kennedy (excluding Mav), though. I knew he was going to have a good showing. What better way to demonstrate a product than to install it on the customer's trucks and see what they can do. The part that sucks is when you have to take the product back off. Kennedy is such a drug (mod) dealer. Gives you a little taste, hooks you, and then reels you in. There oughta be a law... :D

I still like the comment that the owners of the shop went with the Ford because of the bigger engine (more power potential). And we showed them what diesel power is.

I didn't have a great time as far as my truck goes. My runs were less than stellar, and then there was the fire under my hood on the way home. OY! Oh well, just gotta keep plugging along. Matt, I'm serious. This won't happen again!

See you guys on the next one. (I heard that Kennedy's buying on the next DP event;))

Does anyone know how they get a tach signal for a diesel on a Dynojet?

What was the name of the dyno shop?

Thanks,

Pat

Tach signal was via optical pickup. There is a wire coming out of the ECM that provides a tach signal, but IIRC, someone tried using it with no success.

The name of the shop is Hi Tech Motorsports in Ramsey, MN.
