Sorry Big Jim if this is in the wrong forum as I dont know the routing of the gasser 6.0 and 8.1L motors. Prolly the same, but you never know with GM!

Alright... At IDLE ONLY, the tensioner is vibrating quite a bit. And this weekend, the belt started squeeling. My question is: Is the belt stretched causing the tensioner to vibrate, or is the tensioner out causing the belt to squeek? I SURE would hate to ask the 'ASE' guys at MY dealership. They would tell me to buy both to 'be safe'

I don't know the answer to that one but I do know the wheel itself is wobbling sideways on mine. They have a new one on order for me.

sideways IS a problem. Sounds like bearings are out. Mine is wobbling parallel to the belt direction. But, mine might be out as well. Just dont know.....

My tensioner was replaced @ 23,500 miles because of a bad bearing in the pulley.

My tensioner didn't have any excessive movement of the pulley, but the bearing was dry and chirping at idle.

Do you know if that was a DRIVETRAIN related issue?? I am at 80,000 miles right now. If not, what is the part number? gmpartsdirect.com does not list the actual number....
