View Full Version : D-Max Intercooler size?
Looking to size my custom 6.5 IC, figure the D-Max setup would be more than adequate.
Anyone have dimensions and tube layout?

The IC core is about 36" wide and about 16" tall. I could be a little off in the height. It's been a while since I measured one.....
This Dmax core is very close in size to what Dodge uses in their 1994-2002 Cummins equipped trucks. Both are manufactured by Behr. The Dodge IC uses 4" inlet/outlet, where GM uses 3".
Dodge IC's are less expensive because there are so many more of them available on the salvage market. Ebay usually has a couple auctions going at any given time. Just search for "Dodge Intercooler". A modified Dodge intercooler is what resides behind the grille of the current Project truck.

Thanks,is it about 1.5" thick with a 1" core tube?
I have been eye-balling a 24"x12"x3" on Ebay for a while. The ad claims 900 CFM, they don't list a pressure drop.
Check out the interesting tube design.

The following link will show you what dimensions I have for the Dodge IC.

I don't remember how many rows of tubes there are. However, I do remember that the inside of each tube contain fins like what is on the outside.
