Hey guys, new member, yes I own an 05 Ram Diesel, but dad is looking at the noew 06 GMC LBZ or LLY with the 6 speed....for those of you with the LLY/6 Speed I have the following questions. Dad's always been a chevy fan, but this will be his first diesel, doenst tow much, but will keep the truck for ever and is interested in good mileage.

What RPM's are you running at 60/70/80 mph? If your truck has over 10k (i know it's a little early for that), what MPG are you seeing at moderate throttle settings on the hwy, empty and loaded?

Thanks for your responses.

Welcome to the BB!

The 2006 trucks/engines should be turning about 1800 rpm at 70 mph. Every 200 rpm equals about 10 mph (i.e. 60 mph = ~1600 rpm, 80 mph = ~2000).

I expect owners will report a slight bump in unloaded highway fuel economy as a result the lowered rpm, but it could be a while before we get a representative sampling of owners reporting fuel economy. We'll start a new fuel economy poll once they've been out a while. smile.gif
