View Full Version : 0 to 60 question
If my truck weighs 8,140 lbs, what should be my 0-60 time? :( :D
Burner -------- > :D
my truck weighs around 7400 and stock 0-60 was 8.3 to 8.5
Burner:
My truck weighs 6900 lbs (with me in it and diesel 1/2 tank full) I get 10 seconds.
I use an egg timer (that is all I have)!
I have made one run with a G-Tech. The time I got was 8.97 so I'd say that was a 9 second run. I don't have a manual to the G-tech. You know, it really just makes it that much more fun. :D I think I'll go over to the track and make some runs as soon as I figuer this thang out, he he. tongue.gif :D

can the g-tech compensate for tire size?

Since the G Tech isn't actually hooked to the vehicle I don't think it cares what size the tires are.
Where did you weigh the truck? Mine went 6980 with me at 200# and half a tank of gas. Mine ran 8.8 stock- not shabby at all for something this big and heavy.
wakely- :D egg timer?
burner- You can download the GTech manual from their website.
First Diesel is right, the GTech works in any vehicle regardless of tire size, engine, etc.
I finally got up the cajones to do a 10psi boost 4wd holeshot (watch out for mackin- he's a bad influence) with my Juice 90 and my best so far is 6.37. It's kool.

I weighed my truck on Interstate Scales [P.O. Box 6730, Evansville, IN 47719-0730 Ph 812-421-8212 www. interstatescales.com] I used the part of the scale that reads the drive wheel weight of the truck. The scale is just off Interstate 65, South Star Fuel 1901 Finley Blvd Birmingham, AL. I have weighed many things at this place. They have worked very well for me. :D

you said...."mine went 6980 with me at 200# and half a tank of gas"......
you DO realize that your truck would run better with DIESEL instead of GAS don't ya?????? smile.gif smile.gif

does anyone have any times for 3500's?
My '02 3500 does 0-60 in 8.5 with just a K&N Aircharger (G-Tech Pro timing).
Here's how I did it:
1. Stand on brake pedal.
2. Stand on gas pedal.
3. When RPMs stop climbing, side step brake pedal.
You want to side step that brake pedal pretty quickly once the RPMs stop climbing, as I suspect bad things would happen if you wait several more seconds.
I didn't roast the rears either, it just hooked right up and went down the road (this was in 2 wheel drive). I run 235-85-16 BFG A/Ts and have a G-80 rear end.
Btw, this was before I added the M15000 winch and with just over 1,000 miles on the truck.
Trace,
I thought so too, that weight is fully fueled with me in it. My 2001 Ford PS weighed in @ 8,005 lbs, with out me, on a set of "quick scales" the State Police had set out. Did you know that each one of their scales costs 6,ooo! 24,ooo worth of scales just to weigh my truck. Let me see.... what's in my bed? Ok, a small compressor @ 235 lbs, weatherguard tool box @ 105 lbs, B&W Goose hitch, 30mm ammo can full of nuts and bolts, tow ratchet and three wedge binders, 4 20ft 5/16 simi-stainless chains, two prize bars and a cheeter bar. The tool box is just that, full of tools and it's packed. I would love to have the time to "unload" all my stuff but I can't. Every time I take something out I end up needing it with-in the next few days. I feel like a pack rat. :( However, it is a truck and I use it as such. :D My friends kid me by calling me McGiver. However, It does give some satisfaction knowing that they wouldn't if I couldn't fix everything. ;)
---------- On a note-- Penhauls service truck ran out of fuel today on a 7% grade. I pulled over and chained up and took off "up" the hill. Once we arrived at the fuel station I asked him what his truck weighed. He said "Fifteen to eighteen thousand" pounds. Man, I just love that D-Max Allison combination!!!!!
