Somewhere on this site I read a fix for the check engine oil light. Not sure why it's coming on. I remember something having to do with the gas pedal or static electricity from rubbing baloons on your head or a large-breasted woman taking a sweater off real fast.
Is the fix a temp thing or will it come back.
thanx,

Coincidence or not, mine came on as we pulled into the dealer to get the ECM/TCM updates on our way out to the Rendezvous. After the updates, it did not come back on.

My check oil level light has come on 3 different times. I checked, it is full of oil. Hmmmm.
There is an ECM update for "false error codes". I believe this is one of those that the update fixes.
Seems to me, its ign on but not running ~ depress accellerator to the floor 3 times and tell her to put her sweater back on all w/in 6 seconds. Its all right there in our unabridge manual ~ somewhere. ~ odoh

odoh, what you are describing is the change engine oil reminder.

I recall one post that said it was a poor connection where the sensor wire connected on the side of the oil pan.
