Looked at a 02 D/A.. Truck had 145K on it.. OTherwise was in exc. condition.. I haven't yet seen one w/ this many miles.. Guy said it had the injector's recently replaced and has had normal maint. interval's.. They are asking 27K for it.. Is this too much to pay for a 02 w/ that many miles? Is the diff. between a LB7/LLY that much a diff to just go buy new?

Check Kellybluebook.com
If I knew all the options I would have run it. They will give tradein value, personal party value, ect.

My 94 only has 174k on it.....

$27K seems like a lot for a truck with 145K miles!

Watch for the year-end incentives to start appearing. Maybe they will do the $4k rebates. Negotiate a good price on a modestly equipped new DMAX. Maybe it costs you another $7K, but you have a new truck. Just my opinion.

Depending on the options, new EC shorts and even CC shorts are rolling out for $33-35k from some dealers.

Looking at the window sticker vs the sale price aty dealer, it seemed the particular trucks he had were selling very near BASE price...

I agree with O_C DMAX, you should be able to negotiate for a NEW 04 with no miles and a warranty for $6K - 8K more. Well worth it in my opinion.

I just sold my 01 -
2500 HD LT Dmax allison, Loaded truck - close to mint condition- for 26k -

41k miles

Sound WAYYYY to high. ask the dealer if he's a collector , or does he really want to sell trucks

Thanks for the great reply's.. i'll def. go look into the new truck's.. The details on the truck are.. 02 CC 3500 DRW D/A fully optioned minus leather.. 4x4.. which btw makes a nice grinding sound as it does it on the fly.. I checked Kbb for the value of it.. they listed it w/ even that high of mileage at 29K retail.. which i almost fell off my seat....

Reality is, they are bringing HIGH numbers on the used market. Even the dealer auctions are going super high. Let's hope it stays this way for resale value...

I've seen the same at auction...03 is going for $27k to 30k regardless of miles. You're best bet is to find an 01 or 02 to get in the price range u in. Or do a wide open search on cars.com, autobytel.com, autotrader.com oreven ebay.com...u'll probably find something that';; fit your budget...u'll just have to go find it.
