Have an oil leak just behind oil pan, somewhere at rear of engine. Have about 62,000 miles on it.

Anyone else run into this? Could not tell where exactly it is coming from. Any help would be appreciated.

you might want to check around the "upper gasket" right above the oil pan. Thats where mine seeps. Not bad enough to warrant a $1000. repair bill.

Why wouldn't that be covered in your 100K warranty?

Dropped it off at dealer this evening. $100 deductible covers entire engine except turbo. States all gaskets and seals. Let's hope they find it. Will update as to results.

I think hd90rider is a bit past the 100,000 mile mark.

Got it back from dealer last night. They replaced lower pan gasket (black silicone). They kept vehicle for day & half. When they called me, told me what problem was & that "gasket" would be in later in day.... black silicone ... no gasket. Will be calling them tomorrow to re-schedule. It still leaks.

Just an update. It's back at dealer for 4th time.

Second time, they replaced oil pan. What morons as I had told them it was wet above and running down. Naturally I returned it next day as it was still leaking. Also, when they replaced oil pan they used a different sealant than previously. checked out the GM part number and it was intake manifold adhesive. When I questioned them, they told me it was an acceptable substitute(read on :D ). Also, as the oil pan was an updated version with the oil level sending unit moved slightly, they neglected to lengthen the wiring per GM instructions.

On the third visit, they corrected the wiring issue after I informed them of the technical service bulletin, and they did find the true problem - the PCV oil seperator was leaking.

Fourth time, the sealant they used on new oil pan is leaking.

Anyhow, I've been in a brand new loaner truck on all but the first attempt.
