Oil question

Hello,
Went to the shop today to get my front end aligned, and tires rotated..Went back to pick it up, and they tried to charge me for an oil change! well, they didn't charge me for the oil. My question is, I have been running Amsoil in the truck for the last 30,000 miles, now they have put in Shell Rotella 15-40....should I hurry up and change the oil, or is it ok to leave this oil in for 3000 miles, then go back to synthetic?

Rotella is good oil. No harm leaving it in for 3000 miles. What filter (if any) did they install? If it says "Fram" on it, I'd make them eat the whole job! I don't care at all for shops that perform service I didn't ask for, regardless of their intention.

BTW
Rotella may smell more than the Amsoil, longer. It's normal, but could be alarming if you didn't know that.

It's a white filter which says "Shell"
