does anyone know how a transducer works for cruise control on older diesel engines? GM part#2503082 i am currently compliling parts for a mechanical (db4911) injection pump swap. will this work or does it require vac.? that pump is going to be left out with the conversion. some of the older member's rides may have them in use. elighten me ye diesel brains!

Good Day!
The cruise on our '84 (don't own anymore) required vacuum.
Blessings!

My '93 with cruise and 6.5TD was vacuum free.

what does the '93 use for cruise then? I'm trying to diagnose a nonfunctioning cruise on my 92 and as far as I can tell, the PCM gets speed signal from the VSSB and sends it back to the cruise module, which has a cable connection to the IP.
