How do I make a 4L60E work in a 98 suburban with a 6.2 diesel?

You'll need a standalone controller for the electronic transmission - something like this: https://www.painlessperformance.com/wc/66501
There are other options out there, just that was the first one I turned up.

Wouldn't a 1998 have a 6.5L and either a 4l80E or 4l60E? Seeing as a 98 would be 'fly by wire', I would say have the ECM flashed or reprogrammed.

The 6.5 was never married up to the 4l60E....4L80E was the box used.
The early 6.2 (1500 trucks) got the 700R4 (4L60) and that was a ticking time bomb.....I tore up several 700R4 behind 6.2's
